To investigate the effects of Aescine combined with tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) on pulmonary function and inflammatory mediators in patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.

Methods: A total of 116 patients with COPD criteria were randomly divided into control group (58 cases) and treatment group (58 cases). All patients were treated with routine anti-infection, oxygen, phlegm and asthma. On the basis of routine therapy, the rats were treated with tiotropium bromide. The treatment group was treated with Aescine and tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) on the basis of routine therapy. The clinical efficacy, pulmonary function and inflammatory mediators of the two groups were measured and compared.

Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly different from that of the control group (P <0.05). The levels of serum TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8, the first expiratory volume (FEV1) (P <0.01). There was no significant difference in FEV1 / FVC and FEV1% between the two groups (P> 0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). But the treatment group improved significantly compared with the control group (P <0.01).

Conclusion: Combined application of Aescine and tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) in the treatment of acute exacerbation of COPD can play a complementary pharmacological effect from different mechanisms and different links, improve lung function and reduce airway inflammation.
