Objective: To observe the efficacy of combined inhalation of tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) and salmeterol /propofenone propionate in patients with moderate to severe COPD during the monitoring of lung function and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) assessment test(CAT).

Methods: 48 patients with COPD were divided into two groups: combination therapy group and control group. The combination therapy group was treated with tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) and salmeterol /propafenone propionate. The control group was treated with salmeterol /propionic acid fluticasone treatment. The scores of CAT and lung function were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.

Results: Compared with the control group, the scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those of the control group(t = 2.689, P <0.05). After treatment, the lung function indexes (FEV1), the percentage of forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1%) were improved in different degrees. The pulmonary function of the combined treatment group was better than that of the control group. The differences were statistically significant(t values were 2.894,4.366,3.156, P <0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between the two groups before and after treatment (P <0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between the two groups (P> 0.05).

Conclusion: Combined inhalation of tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) and salmeterol /propofolone in the treatment of COPD patients with moderate to severe STD can not only improve lung function, but also improve the patient's athletic endurance and improve the quality of life of patients, with good therapeutic effect.
