OBJECTIVE: To investigate the therapeutic effect of tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) combined with sulbide in patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).

Methods: From January 2012 to October 2013, 76 patients with moderate to severe COPD were treated with random number table. The control group was treated with shilipide inhalation. The dose was 50μg /500μg; the study group in the control group based on the addition of tiotropium bromide inhalation treatment, in a special device piercing the capsule after inhalation, once a day. The two groups were based on changes in the implementation of anti-infection, cough and asthma and other conventional treatment. Comparison of lung function, blood gas, respiratory symptoms and 6 min walking distance were compared between the two groups after treatment. 

Results: The forced expiratory volume, forced vital capacity, forced expiratory volume /forced vital capacity were (2.22 ± 0.48) L, (3.28 ± 0.32) L, (66.23 ± 9.22)%, respectively, significantly higher in the study group (0.78 ± 0.35) L, (2.85 ± 0.47) L, (56.83 ± 7.85)%], the difference was statistically significant (t values were 5.39,4.66,4.78, P <0.01). The arterial oxygen pressure was (72.83 ± 5.28) mmHg, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (65.36 ± 3.22) mmHg], and the partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide was (43.28 ± 3.52) mmHg, which was significantly lower than that of the control group [(48.76 ± 2.85) mmHg], the differences were statistically significant (t values were 7.44,7.45, P <0.01). (1.38 ± 0.32) points, which was significantly lower than that of the control group [(1.76 ± 0.35) points], and the maximum distance was (428.36 ± 32.85) m in 6 min, which was significantly higher than that in the control group[(398.65 ± 28.38) m], the difference was statistically significant (t values were 4.93,4.21, P <0.01).

Conclusion: Tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) combined with sulbide in the treatment of stable moderate to severe COPD patients has a good clinical effect, by improving the arterial oxygen pressure in patients with lung injury to promote the repair, and promote the improvement of quality of life of patients.
