To compare the effect of sulindetil and tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) inhaler on acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods: 118 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who underwent hospitalization from January 2011 to October 2012 were randomly divided into two groups (n = 59). The two groups were given oxygen, expectorant, intravenous infusion of antibiotics and other conventional treatment, the control group on the basis of this combination of Seretide daily inhalation 2 times for treatment, the treatment group with tiotropium bromide powder daily inhalation 18μg, were treated continuously for 10 weeks. The changes of lung function and blood gas were measured and the curative effect and adverse reactions were observed. Results: The improvement of lung function and blood gas analysis in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group (P <0.05). The total effective rate was 89.83% in the treatment group and 86.44% in the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). There were 2 cases of nausea in the treatment group and 1 case of dyspepsia. Nausea in 3 cases, 2 cases of hoarseness, have no effect on the treatment. Conclusion: The effect of tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) inhalation therapy on pulmonary function and blood gas is better than that of sulinda, and the curative effect is obvious and mild adverse reaction can be used as an effective drug to prevent acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
