To compare the efficacy of salmeterol /fluticasone and salmeterol /fluticasone in combination with tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) in patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The study showed that salmeterol / fluticasone combined with tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) in the treatment of moderate to severe COPD is better than monotherapy Sulidide treatment, can significantly improve patients with lung function, exercise tolerance and dyspnea symptoms. The article published in 2014 twenty-third issue of "Hainan Medical" magazine.

68 patients with moderate to severe COPD were randomly divided into observation group (n = 36) and control group (n = 32). The control group was treated with salmeterol /fluticasone (salmeterol 50 μg /fluticasone 500 μg) tiotropium bromide(136310-93-5) (powder inhalation 18μg × 10) inhalation, treatment for 6 months. The lung function was compared before and after treatment in both groups. The exercise tolerance was evaluated by 6-min walking distance (6MWD). The dyspnea was assessed by dyspnea scale (MMRC).

With the prolongation of treatment time, the lung function of the two groups of patients improved, and the observation group were better than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.001). Both groups were treated with 6MWD. (P <0.001). The MMRC score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.001).
